Robot overview
Articulated arm robot
igus articulated arm robots are versatile and can be utilized in a wide range of applications, such as overhead labeling, pick-and-place tasks, and quality assurance. These robots efficiently handle repetitive, time-consuming tasks, and their construction from tribologically optimized plastics makes them especially cost-effective. The articulated arm can be paired with grippers from various manufacturers and customized with a color of your choice. They are also compatible with igus Robot Control software, enabling an easy start for your automation project. Software is available for free download, allowing you to try and program your solution before deployment, ensuring seamless integration and ease of use.
Linear robot
igus linear robots, powered by a flat toothed belt drive, operate entirely lubrication-free and meet hygienic standards. These robots are available as complete, cost-effective systems that include motors, couplings, and other accessories. Additionally, customizable solutions are offered to meet specific application needs.
Linear robots are composed of pre-assembled drylin linear axes and stepper motors. You have the flexibility to choose between receiving a fully assembled linear robot or assembling it yourself, following the build-or-buy principle. An added benefit is the control system’s availability in two formats: a complete control cabinet or a top-hat (DIN) rail version, based on your requirements. These robots are versatile, suitable for various applications, such as palletizing with high load capacities, rapid pick-and-place operations, and precise gluing tasks.
Delta robot
We offer delta robots designed for a wide range of tasks. These igus delta robots come with preconfigured drylin linear modules and linear axes (ZLW-1040S, featuring replaceable bearings), paired with igus stepper motors (NEMA 24 with encoders), along with all the components required for self-assembly.
igus delta robots are available with either two-axis or three-axis kinematics, giving you the flexibility to choose the appropriate workspace size for your needs. In line with the build-or-buy principle, you can opt to receive the delta robot as a modular kit or fully assembled. Thanks to their rapid picking rate of 100/60 picks per minute, these robots are ideal for applications such as fast conveyor belt picking or sorting.
Scara robot
igus SCARA robots are offered with either three- or four-axis kinematics, allowing you to select the ideal workspace size for your application. They come with compatible control hardware, available as either a control cabinet or a top-hat (DIN) rail version. These robots are particularly well-suited for pick-and-place tasks, often used in laboratory settings.
SCARA robots are designed for flexibility and individual use, capable of achieving precision within 0.5mm while handling loads of up to 2kg. These robots are typically employed in applications with cycle times exceeding 30 picks per minute. The compatible Robot Control software is available for free download and can be used with control systems in either the control cabinet or the top-hat (DIN) rail version.
Constructed primarily from tribologically optimized plastics, these SCARA robots offer significant cost savings, require no maintenance, and ensure an extended service life.
7th axis
The seventh axis allows you to expand your robot’s working area by up to four times, offering significantly increased flexibility. Constructed primarily from tribologically optimized plastics, this linear axis provides notable cost savings without compromising on performance.
To ensure easy integration, adapter kits are available for a variety of robot brands, including igus robots, Universal Robots, Epson, Omron, Franka Emika, Doosan, and others. Control options include digital I/Os, UR Cap, or the igus Robot Control system. The seventh axis offers a stroke length of up to 6,000 mm, a precision of 0.3 mm, and a payload capacity of up to 55 kg, making it an effective and adaptable solution for extending the reach of automation projects.

Low Cost Automation: Application examples
Automation with an articulated-arm robot for only €7,200
MFG, a labelling specialist, develops a new type of pallet labeller with low-cost robotics from igus
Using a heavy, expensive cast-iron articulated arm robot for a pallet labeller is like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. So, labelling specialist MFG decided to use a low-cost robot made of igus high-performance plastics. It not only saved money and integration effort, but also won the ROIBOT 2022 Low Cost Automation competition.
A robot that sells chocolate
Belgian traditional house provides tourist attraction with low cost automation from igus
Who says automation has to be expensive? In Bruges, Belgium, the chocolate shop Roose’s Chocolate World had a robot called Chocomatic built at a bargain price. It packs chocolates in front of the customers. A robolink robot from igus is used, which moves on a seventh axis.
