Reliable despite dirt, vibrations and humidity
Agricultural environments are tough and unpredictable. That’s why it’s crucial for components to perform reliably under daily stress. Our igus products are engineered to meet these challenges head-on. Designed from high-performance motion plastics, our products excel in conditions with vibrations, moisture, and dirt, and they do so without the need for lubrication.
Our maintenance-free polymer bearings are ideal for heavy-duty applications such as soil cultivating machines and front loaders. drylin linear systems are perfect for adjusting monitors in tractor cabins. For field-spraying systems, our energy chains and chainflex cables provide reliable energy and liquid supply. The versatility of igus products ensures they can be used in a wide range of agricultural applications.
Advantages of igus products in agrigulture:
● Dry-running and corrosion-resistant
● Insensitive to dust and dirt
● UV and weather-resistant
● High mechanical stability and resilience
● Vibration-dampening
● Compensation of misalignment and deflections
● Long, predictable service life
● Easy assembly
Agricultural engineering for vehicles

Farm loaders
With iglidur G plain bearings, we provide a maintenance-free and lubrication-free solution for front loader joints, designed to resist dust and dirt. These plain bearings eliminate the need for additional lubrication or sealing, simplifying the cleaning process. Their exceptional durability makes them perfect for various and changing environmental conditions. Additionally, the vibration-damping properties of these bearings reduce stress, thereby extending the service life of bearing points in farm loaders.

Harvesters
During harvest time, combine harvesters, forage harvesters and beet lifters must operate despite high levels of dirt and dust. That’s why our iglidur plain bearings are used in various parts of these machines, such as the undercarriage, threshing unit, and harvesting headers of combine harvesters.

Tractors
Our products are utilized in a wide range of applications, including front and rear power lifts, front loaders, chassis components, and vehicle cabins. They can endure high loads, provide maintenance-free operation, and are ideal for heavily soiled environments

Emission-reducing slurry application system for future-oriented agriculture
Components used: iglidur G and igutex plain bearings
The Swiss company Brunner Spezialwerkstatt AG has developed Schleppfix, an innovative and emission-reducing slurry application system for future-oriented agriculture. All moving parts use lubrication-free polymer plain bearings from igus.
Cultivation system removes weeds and reduces the use of herbicides
Components used: iglidur plain bearings
Thiessen Tillage Equipment has developed a cultivation system for vineyards, nurseries and orchards that enables fast weeding between plants. The system not only reduces the use of herbicides, but also offers more protection for crops and a better harvest result, as it can passively adapt to changes in the soil contour. The system does not rely on electronics or hydraulics, but on the mechanical feedback of the ground pressure. The iglidur bearings are used in the parallel linkage of the system, which enables the weed control head to float vertically depending on the soil conditions. The device is now used throughout North America and is now starting to be adopted in other countries around the world.
